My work broadly focuses on the intersections between theatre, performance, literature, visual art, film, music, dance, sport and physical culture in the long twentieth and twenty-first centuries. I am interested in bodies and the way they interact on the stage, the pitch and in everyday life. I also have a developing fascination with the health and wellbeing of these bodies, particularly in light of the history of strength training and fitness.
I am committed to making academia more accessible, whether through my termly teaching commitments, my publications or through public engagement events.
